Academic & Professional Biography
I investigate the design, interaction, and societal implications of digital technologies through an interdisciplinary lens. My current research examines how AI-based systems shape care, vulnerability, creativity, and knowledge production, especially in human–chatbot interaction. I develop hybrid methodologies that combine situated research, digital ethnography, autoethnography, walkthrough methods, research through design, visual analysis, and cultural analytics. I have led research, educational innovation, and human-centred technology design projects, and collaborated across communication, education, the humanities, art and design, engineering, and neuroscience. I have participated in national and international funded research projects. I have over twenty five years of university teaching experience in Mexico and the United States. At Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Querétaro. I taught and conducted research while also holding academic leadership roles in Communication and Digital Art, the B.A. in Communication, and international student coordination. I previously taught Spanish at UC San Diego and Western Michigan University.
